Kia ora, I am Yumi
I am a certified coach and licensed professional counselor with a diverse background that spans counseling psychology, behavioral science consulting, and professional identity coaching. Raised bi-culturally in Wisconsin with Japanese-American roots, I ventured to Colorado for college, where I earned a BA in economics—and met my lifelong partner. Later, I completed an MA in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver, laying the foundation for a fulfilling career centered around interpersonal dynamics and transformation.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a school counselor, private practice psychotherapist, and HR director, and have recently focused on supporting clients through professional identity coaching. My credentials include Certified Co-active Professional Coach (CPCC) and Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the ICF, and I hold a license as a professional counselor. With over a decade in psychotherapy, working with children and families across hospitals, schools, and private practice, I hold a deep commitment to harmony and healing.
In 2019, after a life-changing cancer diagnosis, I embraced a new chapter by pivoting into behavioral science consulting, working remotely with insurance and pharmaceutical companies during the pandemic. Now, I channel my experiences across healthcare, corporate, and entrepreneurial landscapes to empower clients in their professional and personal growth.
